BANGKOK, 1 October 2015 – Finance Minister Apisak Tantivoravong said on Thursday the Government Housing Bank (GHB) will provide loans for low-income earners to buy houses.

The lending facility of the state-run bank with which the impoverished people may buy houses will offer a longer repayment term and a lowered interest rate than those provided by commercial banks, he said.

Those who might be denied a house-buying loan at commercial banks and are yet looking for it will be welcomed to borrow from the GHB, Mr. Apisak said.

The government is currently considering reducing the fee for real estate mortgages and ownership transfers, he added.
