BANGKOK, 8 May 2015 – The government has urged those wishing to help quake victims in Nepal donate money, saying that monetary aid is easier to deliver.

Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office Police Major General Sansern Keawkamnerd stated that the preferred form of aid is donation money, given that Nepal entered its rehabilitation phase on May 3. He explained that although Nepal still requires basic necessities, they are not as flexible as monetary aid.

Police Major General Sansern said that officials are discussing approaches for delivering donation funds to Nepal. The donations may be allocated to various charity organizations and related United Nations’ units.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, donations made to the ‘Sending Thai hearts to Nepal’ account reached 150 million baht yesterday.
