BANGKOK, 26 August 2011 – Government Spokersperson Titima Chaisang has asked the society for an opportunity for her deputy Anusorn Iamsa-at to work in his position because she is confident in his political expertise.
In response to a criticism on the appropriateness of her deputy, the spokesperson said Mr Anusorn has strong determination, political expertise and good human relationship, which are strong qualifications for this job.
Ms Titima voiced her confidence that Mr Anusorn will be able to perform well, and no friction is expected because everybody in the spokesperson’s office will work as a team. She then asked the society to let capable people work.
Mr Anusorn is widely criticised because of his involvement as host to a few radio and television programmes known to belong to the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD).
The spokesperson pledged that her team will work by upholding interests of people as top priority, which corresponds with the determination of the government to solve economic woes and create reconciliation.
Ms Titima admitted that she personally has no previous experience in this field; therefore, she said she has to adjust herself to the position. She then asked for sympathy and cooperation from the press and voiced her confidence that she will be able to work efficiently.
Upon a criticism that the government is eclipsed by the leadership of ex-Prime Minister Police Lieutenant Colonel Thaksin Shinawatra, the spokesperson said there is no need to clarify this issue because the ex-prime minister does not meddle in national administration while Ms Yingluck always acts on her own.
