The Hae Nak Hod festival is a long-standing tradition in Ban Non Salao – Non Tan, located in the Phu Khiew district of Chaiyaphum.

In the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum, aspiring monks are thrown and shaken to the beats of big drums as part of the ritual of Hae Nak Hod. It is believed that this practice ensures new monks can endure challenges, similar to how their mothers coped with the “Yoo Fai” postnatal heat treatment.
