In Chalermprakiat district in Nan province, hail hit three villages but there were no reports of damage or injuries.

The Meteorological Department issued a summer storm warning for upper Thailand during March 13 – 14.

The moderate high-pressure system from China extends to upper Thailand and the South China Sea while hot weather occurs in the upper country. At the same time, the westerly trough will move through the North.

Thunderstorm outbreaks with gust and hail are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East.

People should beware of the severe condition by keeping off open-air, big trees and unsecured billboards, and farmers should prevent for crop damage.



Affected areas are as followings:

On 13 March 2023

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei and Nong Khai.

Central: Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram including Bangkok and its vicinity.

East: Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

On 14 March 2023

East: Chanthaburi and Trat.

Meanwhile, the local office of the meteorological department issued a summer storm warning for another two days after the storm damaged homes in Bor Kluea district yesterday.
