Bangkok – The Meteorological Department of Thailand has issued a warning about possible hail and gusty winds which may hit some areas in the upper part of the country.
The high-pressure system from China has extended its ridge to meet with the hot weather in the upper regions of Thailand. Summer storms and hail are likely in some areas of the North, the Northeast, the Central Plain and the East through Wednesday.
Provinces to be affected include:
North: Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buri Ram
Central: Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Chai Nat, Lop Buri, Saraburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Bangkok plus its vicinity
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri and Rayong.
People are advised to stay away from big trees and insecure billboards during the storms. Farmers should also take extra caution to avoid damage to their crops.
