SURAT THANI, 24 June 2015 – The introduction of the female traffic police team by the Hat Yai Police Station is an attempt to provide graceful service to the public and also to rejuvenate the city’s tourism image.

The Hat Yai Police Station today dispatched the female traffic police team on their first day of operations to provincial roads with temporary supervision from male officers to improve their services, especially during the morning and evening rush hours.

The Hat Yai Traffic Inspector Pol Lt Col Sitthisak Chansawang has said that the female traffic police team was initiated by the police commander who wants to introduce services from women in Hat Yai to elevate the city’s tourism image.

He has said that service from female staff would help reduce traffic stress from motorists, as their manners are softer than male officers, and the gentle manners of female officers could easily resolve conflicts and prevent possible confrontation between officers and the public.
