HBO chooses Thailand for ‘The White Lotus’ season 3

HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ executive Scott Schaeffer has expressed his admiration for Thailand as a film location, following the selection of Koh Samui for the production of the series’ third season. Schaeffer commended the professionalism of the local production team and acknowledged the cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism & Sports, other related agencies, and residents in facilitating the production.



During his recent meeting with Tourism and Sports Minister Sermsak Pongpanich, Schaeffer highlighted the exceptional landscapes and natural beauty of Koh Samui, Phuket, and other Thai islands as some of the world’s best filming locations. He also noted that government incentives played a major role in HBO and Warner Bros. choosing Thailand, describing them as among the best in Asia.

Minister Sermsak stated that the series is expected to enhance Thailand’s reputation globally and attract tourists to the filming locations. He projected that foreign film production revenue could exceed 7.5 billion baht by 2024, with tourism, following in the footsteps of world-class films, continuing to boost the Thai economy. (NNT)
