HBO renews Emmy-winning series ‘The White Lotus’ for fourth season

BANGKOK, Thailand – HBO has renewed its Emmy-winning series The White Lotus for a fourth season, ahead of the premiere of its third installment. Created by Mike White, the satirical drama has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards since its debut in 2021. The upcoming third season, set to debut on 17 February, will consist of eight episodes and will be available to stream on Max. This installment will take place at a luxury resort in Thailand, following the intertwined lives of guests and staff over a week.



The new season features an ensemble cast including Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, and Michelle Monaghan, alongside international stars such as Lalisa Manobal, also known as Lisa from the K-pop group BLACKPINK. Returning cast member Natasha Rothwell is joined by newcomers like Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, and Scott Glenn. The series continues to attract high-profile talent, with the latest additions including Charlotte Le Bon and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The first season, set in Hawaii, premiered in July 2021 and earned 20 Emmy nominations, winning 10 awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. The second season, set in Sicily and released in December 2022, built on this success with 23 Emmy nominations and five wins, including recognition in the Outstanding Drama Series category. The show’s blend of dark humor and social commentary has made it a standout in HBO’s lineup.


While details about the next installment remain undisclosed, the anthology format is expected to continue exploring themes of wealth, privilege, and human relationships in a new location.
