BANGKOK, 6 October 2013 – The Minister of Public Health has said that Dengue fever situation in the nation is improving. Authorities have set a target to reduce the number of patients to under 500 per week.
According to Public Health Minister Dr. Pradit Sinthawanarong, the Dengue fever situation in the nation has improved, with only 3,000 patients reported per week, down from the 8,000 patients reported earlier. If the current situation continues, the number of dengue fever patients is expected to return to normal within a month. The ministry has also set to lower the number of patients to 500 a week.
The Minister has also asked for cooperation from all households and communities, requesting that they eliminate mosquito larvae breeding sites every 7 days, reduce waste, and ensure a clean environment; in order to reduce the number of mosquitoes
