BANGKOK – The Minister of Public Health has urged public health practitioners and hospitals across the country to provide lifelong care to the public while maintaining honesty and strong work ethic.
New Public Health Minister Dr Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn made the call while delivering his policy statement at a conference attended by public healthcare practitioners and directors of various public hospitals from all over the country. He said the ministry in fiscal 2016 would pursue its policy to promote development, cooperation and wellbeing of the public as well as work happiness of health practitioners.
To achieve that goal, the ministry has drawn up eight measures to be implemented such as giving freedom in healthcare management to each locality, providing professional services with good governance, focusing on prevention of various ailments rather than waiting to cure diseases, providing lifelong health care service, and promoting use of local wisdoms and traditional medicine.
Dr Piyasakol said the Ministry will conduct an evaluation of the measures after 3 months, 6 months and 1 year of implementation while stressing the importance of honesty, cooperation, responsibility and transparency in the workplace.
