Health Promotion Foundation holds talks on measures to enhance community health

BANGKOK, 31 August 2015, – The Thai Health Promotion Foundation and the Local Administrative Organization have held talks on approaches to enhancing various aspects of community health.

Meeting topics included tobacco control measure, alcohol consumption and road accident reduction campaign,and sustainable agricultural development. A healthcare system for the elderly and a program focus on creating mentally fulfilled youths were also discussed.

The talks were aimed at encouraging the public to work with local health institutes and hospitals in taking care of their health at the community level. The meeting has decided to choose Petchaburi as a pilot province for the initiative.

Underlining sustainable agricultural development, official said 7 centers related to the course would soon be established. They also planned to introduce campaigns to produce food from local agro- products, which educates locals about food and production technology as well as how to make fertilizer from left-over food.
