BANGKOK, 2 July 2015 – The Government is to hold a “Healthy City, Community Way of Life Fair” in response to a higher demand for healthy living. It will take place in July at Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Market near the Government House.
The event will run for three weeks from 7 to 26 July with a special theme in each week. Divided into three zones, the event showcases and sells health products from over a hundred suppliers.
“Bringing Thai Traditional Medicine to the World” is the theme of the first week from 7-12 July where business matching will be arranged while use of Thai traditional medicines, herbal supplements and detoxicification will be demonstrated.
The second week will focus on “Alzheimer-Free Community”, promoting anti-alzymer foods, acupuncture and physical exercise. In the final week, visitors can see “Thai Herbs for Beauty” such as facial spa and anti-aging treatment.
Gen Prayut is scheduled to inaugurate the event on July 7th at 5 p.m.
The objectives of the fair are to stimulate domestic economy and promote SME suppliers to have additional channel for their business. Meanwhile, buyers are assured of high quality Thai medicines and health products sold at the event.
The upcoming fair follows the success of two earlier events — “Qualiy Orchid Market” and “Flowers and Ornamental Fishes Fair” held respectively at the same location since the beginning of this year in line with the Prime Minister’s policy.
The new fair will be accompanied by the usual “Floating Market” in the nearby Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Canal where visitors can take boat service free of charge to the market during 8.30 a.m. – 7.30 p.m.
Moreover, the Culture Ministry will bring cultural-based products for sale at the fair as well as cultural performances to entertain visitors.
