BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms across Thailand in the next 24 hours, with particularly severe rainfall expected in parts of the Northeastern and Southern regions. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes.
This weather is driven by a strong southwestern monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Additionally, a tropical depression over the northern South China Sea is expected to make landfall in central Vietnam between September 19-20.
