BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in the lower Central region, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, as well as the Eastern and Southern regions. Meanwhile, cooler temperatures are expected in the upper Northeastern region during the early morning. Residents in northern Thailand are advised to take care of their health due to changing weather conditions.
Over the next 24 hours, easterly winds are bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, covering the lower Northeast, Central region, Bangkok and nearby provinces, as well as the East. This weather pattern will result in scattered heavy rain in these areas.
A weak high-pressure system remains over the upper Northeast, causing cooler morning temperatures. Residents in northern Thailand should be cautious and maintain their health during this transition.
In the South, a monsoon trough crossing the upper Southern region is expected to cause heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. People living in these regions should be alert to potential hazards, including flash floods and landslides, particularly in hilly areas near waterways and low-lying areas. Meanwhile, waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to remain weak, with waves below 1 meter in height, rising to over 2 meters during thunderstorms. Sailors are advised to avoid areas with thunderstorms.
Bangkok and its surrounding areas will experience thunderstorms covering 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some places. The minimum temperature is expected to range between 25-26°C, while the maximum temperature will be between 32-34°C.
