BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department reports that heavy rain is expected in parts of the lower Central, Eastern, and Southern regions of Thailand. Meanwhile, the upper Northern and upper Northeastern regions will continue to experience cool weather in the mornings. Residents in the northern part of the country are advised to take care of their health due to changing weather conditions. In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, thunderstorms are forecasted for 60% of the region.

According to the 24-hour forecast, a high-pressure system or cool air mass remains weak over the upper Northern and upper Northeastern regions, keeping these areas cool in the mornings. At the same time, easterly winds are bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to the lower Northeastern, Central, Eastern, and Bangkok metropolitan areas, causing scattered heavy rain in some areas. Residents in these regions should remain cautious due to the fluctuating weather.

In the South, a monsoon trough is passing over the upper part of the region, resulting in heavy rain in some areas. People in these regions should be prepared for potential flash floods and runoff, particularly in mountainous areas near watercourses and low-lying areas.

The Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will experience light winds, with waves below 1 meter, but in areas with thunderstorms, waves may reach 1-2 meters. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in areas affected by thunderstorms.

For Bangkok and its vicinity, there is a 60% chance of thunderstorms, with heavy rain expected in some parts. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C at the lowest and 31-33°C at the highest. (TNA)
