BANGKOK, ThailandThe Thai Meteorological Department has issued its third warning of the season, alerting the public to increased rainfall from September 13 to 17. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected across many regions, including the Northeast, Central, Eastern, and Southern (western coast) areas. Accumulated rainfall may lead to flash floods and forest runoff, especially in mountainous and low-lying areas.

Heavy rain is forecasted in several provinces.

In the North, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun will be affected.

In the Northeast, provinces expected to see heavy rainfall include Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lamphu, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Bebinca,” which is expected to make landfall in China, has not yet impacted Thailand. However, continuous monitoring is required until September 22, particularly in the Northern and Northeastern regions. Additionally, besides the heavy rainfall, coastal areas near Bangkok may experience high tides, increasing the risk of flooding and slow water drainage. Rain is expected to persist in Thailand from September 18 to 22.
