Heavy rainfall is predicted in parts of northern Thailand, while northeastern, central, and eastern regions will experience sporadic heavy showers.

The Meteorological Department has issued a 24-hour weather forecast, predicting heavy rainfall in parts of northern Thailand, while northeastern, central, and eastern regions will experience sporadic heavy showers. Residents in these areas are urged to be cautious of potential flash floods and water runoff, especially in low-lying and hillside areas, due to accumulated rainfall.

This weather pattern is influenced by the moderately weakening southwest monsoon over the upper Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the upper Gulf of Thailand. Additionally, a low-pressure system, previously downgraded from Tropical Depression “Yagi,” is hovering over Laos and northern Vietnam, contributing to the heavy rains in some areas.

Meanwhile, the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are seeing weakened winds and waves, though thunderstorm-prone areas could still experience waves reaching over 2 meters. In the lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf of Thailand, wave heights range from 1-2 meters, with similar caution advised for seafarers in areas of thunderstorms.

In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, thunderstorms are expected to affect 40% of the region, with temperatures ranging from 27°C to 36°C.
