BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in parts of the lower central region, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, as well as in the eastern region. The same weather pattern is expected in the southern region, while the upper northeastern part of Thailand will experience cooler temperatures in the mornings.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast, easterly and southeasterly winds are bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand over the lower central region, including Bangkok, the surrounding areas, and the eastern region. As a result, scattered heavy rainfall is expected in these areas. The northeastern region is being affected by a weak high-pressure system, leading to cool mornings in the upper areas. Residents in northern Thailand are advised to take precautions due to changing weather conditions.



In southern Thailand, a monsoon trough is passing through the lower part of the region, leading to heavy rainfall in some areas. Residents, especially those living near mountain slopes and watercourses, are warned of potential flash floods and landslides due to accumulated rainfall. People in low-lying areas should also be cautious. Meanwhile, wind conditions in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand remain moderate, with waves up to 1 meter high, but over 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in stormy weather.

Northern Region: Thunderstorms are expected in 20% of the area, mainly in Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun provinces. Temperatures will range from 22-25°C in the morning to a high of 32-34°C. Winds will be from the southeast at 10-15 km/h.

Northeastern Region: The upper areas will experience cool mornings, with 20% of the region expected to see thunderstorms, mainly in Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, and Sisaket. Temperatures will range from 22-25°C in the morning, rising to 33-34°C. Winds will be from the east at 10-25 km/h.

Central Region: Thunderstorms are forecast for 40% of the region, with heavy rain expected in parts of Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Sakhon. Morning lows will be between 23-26°C, with highs of 33-35°C. Winds will be southeasterly at 10-20 km/h.

Eastern Region: Thunderstorms are expected in 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some areas, including Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C in the morning to 33-35°C later in the day. Winds will be easterly at 10-30 km/h, with wave heights below 1 meter, and over 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.

Southern Region (East Coast): Thunderstorms are expected in 80% of the area, with heavy rain in some parts, including Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperatures will range from 23-25°C in the morning to 31-34°C. Winds will be variable at 10-30 km/h, with wave heights below 1 meter, and over 2 meters in stormy areas.




Southern Region (West Coast): Thunderstorms are expected in 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some parts, including Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Temperatures will range from 24-26°C in the morning to 32-34°C later in the day. Winds will be from the southwest at 15-30 km/h, with wave heights around 1 meter, and over 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.

Bangkok and Surrounding Areas: Thunderstorms are expected in 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some parts. Temperatures will range from 26-27°C in the morning to 33-34°C. Winds will be easterly at 10-20 km/h.
