The Meteorological Department reveals that Thailand will experience heavy rain in some areas and warns the eastern region to prepare for potential flooding and flash floods.

The Meteorological Department reports that a moderate southwest monsoon is covering the upper Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the upper Gulf of Thailand, coupled with a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam.

Additionally, there are wind convergence zones of southwest and southeast winds covering the eastern region and the Gulf of Thailand. This weather pattern will result in heavy rain in some areas of the north, northeast, Bangkok and its vicinity, and the south, with particularly heavy rain in the eastern region.

People in these areas are advised to be cautious of heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may lead to flash floods and forest runoffs, especially in hilly areas near watercourses and low-lying areas.

In the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to be 1-2 meters high, with areas experiencing thunderstorms having waves higher than 2 meters. Mariners in these areas are advised to navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms during this period.
