BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rain in some areas of lower central Thailand, including Bangkok and its surrounding provinces, as well as the eastern regions. Meanwhile, the upper northeastern region is expected to experience cooler weather during the mornings.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast, an easterly wind is bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand to cover the lower northeastern region, central Thailand, Bangkok, and the eastern areas. This will lead to heavy rainfall in certain areas of the lower central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the eastern regions.

In the upper northeastern region, a weak high-pressure system is still present, resulting in cool morning weather. Residents in these areas are advised to take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions.

Meanwhile, a monsoon trough is passing over the upper southern region, causing heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts. People in affected areas should be cautious of potential flash floods and runoff, particularly in mountainous areas, near waterways, and low-lying regions.

Seas in the Andaman and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to have mild winds with waves below 1 meter, though waves could reach over 2 meters during thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in stormy areas.
