The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for certain regions in Thailand, warning of heavy rainfall that could potentially lead to flash floods and runoff. A monsoon trough is currently moving across the upper northern region of Thailand and northern Laos, extending into a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam. Additionally, converging southeasterly and southwesterly winds are affecting the northern and northeastern regions of Thailand, while the southwestern monsoon continues to prevail over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Due to these conditions, some areas in the northern, northeastern, eastern, and southern parts of Thailand are expected to experience heavy rain. The public is advised to be cautious of potential dangers from the heavy rainfall, including the possibility of flash floods and water runoff, particularly in low-lying areas, near hillsides, and along waterways.

In the upper Andaman Sea, waves are expected to reach heights of 1-2 meters, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves could exceed 2 meters. The department has advised sailors to avoid navigating in areas affected by thunderstorms.
