The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a 24-hour weather forecast, predicting heavy rainfall in some areas of the eastern and southern regions of Thailand. The northeastern, eastern, and southern parts of the country, especially the eastern coast, are also expected to experience significant rainfall. Residents in these regions are advised to remain vigilant as heavy rain and accumulated precipitation could lead to flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes.

This weather pattern is influenced by the relatively strong southwestern monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are experiencing strong winds, with waves reaching heights of 2-3 meters. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters. Mariners are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy conditions. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are advised to remain ashore until September 8.

Typhoon Yagi, currently located over the northern South China Sea, is expected to pass over Hainan Island, China, and make landfall in northern Vietnam on September 7. The storm is likely to weaken into a tropical storm and then a tropical depression. As a result, the northern and northeastern regions of Thailand could see heavy rain and strong winds between September 7 and 8.
