The Meteorological Department reports that heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of upper Thailand. People should be aware of potential flash floods and forest runoffs. Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience thunderstorms covering 60% of the region. Moderate sea waves are expected in the upper Andaman Sea.

Weather forecast for the next 24 hours: The monsoon trough will pass through the upper northern region and northern Laos. The southwestern monsoon will continue to cover the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. This will cause heavy rainfall in some parts of upper Thailand. Residents in these areas should be cautious of heavy and accumulated rainfall, which may lead to flash floods and forest runoffs, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.

The upper Andaman Sea will experience moderate sea waves with waves 1-2 meters high, and over 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. The lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will have waves about 1 meter high, and more than 1 meter in thunderstorm areas. Mariners should navigate carefully and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas.
