Chantaburi, 7 July 2014 – A nursery center in Bangkaja sub-district, Muang district, Chantaburi has been ordered closed for two days after 2 children have reportedly contracted hand, foot and mouth disease. The nursery center has been ordered closed and to clean up and disinfect its facility as well as the children’s belongings, due to the outbreak of the hand, foot and mouth disease. Two children in the care of the nursery center have recently been diagnosed with the disease. In a bid to prevent further spread of the disease, classes at the nursery are suspended for 2 days, July 7 and 8 . Hand, foot and mouth disease has so far been found in 5 other districts of Chantaburi province, including the districts of Pong Nam Ron, Klung, khaeng hang maew , Soi Dao district, and Muang. According to reports, 383 patients have been infected with the disease in Chantaburi, most of whom are children under the age of five..
