On the morning of October the 11th police were called to the Marine Casa Hotel on walking street as one of the guests had died in the hotels lobby. At the scene they found the body of 36 year old Mr.Badar Salim Rashid Al Darmaki from Oman, he had passed away whilst sitting in one of the hotels chairs, there were no signs of physical injuries or bruises and he had been dead for about one hour.

An employee at the hotel had been sweeping the floor and noticed that Mr Badar was not moving so he took a closer look and could tell that the man had passed away.

Another employee stated that Mr Badar had checked in on the 8th of October and had drunk himself into a stupor so much so that on that morning he could not manage to walk up the stairs so he had simply sat down on one of the chairs to sleep it off. A Thai woman who was with him had wiped his head with a cold towel before leaving. The officers hypothesized that the reason for death is most likely from a sudden myocardial infarction or heavy drinking. However, as the man is a foreigner his body has been sent for an  autopsy at the Police Hospital’s forensic department for a  more concrete cause along with informing the embassy of the situation.
