Hua Hin’s landscape spruced up for HM the King’s birthday celebrations

BANGKOK, 29 November 2013 The Provincial Administrative Organization of Prachuap Khiri Khan has already joined hands with the Hua Hin Municipality and the Bureau of the Royal Household in improving the landscape surrounding Klai Kangwon Palace ahead of the grand audience to be granted by His Majesty the King on December 5, on the occasion of His 86th birthday anniversary. 

The Palace and nearby Phetchakasem Road have been spruced up with flowers, national flags and royal flags. The face-lift is concentrated on one side of Phetchakasem Road and the road adjoining the palace where well-wishers from all parts of the country are expected to turn up to greet HM the King on the day.

Road surface around the Sala Ratchapracha Samakhom where His Majesty the King will appear is being improved with new floor tiles. The Provincial Electricity Authority is putting more lighting around the place. Seven big display screens will be installed to help well wishers monitor royal activities during the event. The preparations are expected to finish by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office met with representatives from the Bureau of the Royal Household and related agencies the other day to ensure the preparations were going as planned and various activities on the day would be befitting HM the King’s honor.

According Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office Thongthong Chandrangsu, HM the King will grant an audience to well wishers comprising members of the Royal Family and government officials at the Sala Ratchapracha Samakhom Pavilion at 10.30 a.m. This will be followed by the Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces leading the Royal Guards in taking an oath of allegiance. The Television Pool of Thailand and the National Broadcasting Station of Thailand will both carry live broadcasts of the event.
