BANGKOK, 10 January 2013 InnoBioPlast 2013, an international conference and exhibition on bioplastics and biobased business, will be held from January 24-26 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
The event is aimed at pushing Thailand to become the leader in bioplastics of Asia.
Bioplastics are plastics that are fully or partially biobased, and/or biodegradable or compostable. As the products are produced from cassava, the government has planned to increase the cassava productivity to over 5 tons per rai and support 80 research projects on the bioplastics technology worth altogether 100 million baht. It has also been finding channels to market and sell the products to encourage more production.
The InnoBioPlast Conference and Exhibition, initiated by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), has been held in Bangkok every two years since 2006. This year’s event will consist of presentations of the latest global innovations and technologies throughout the industry, as well as guidelines on future trends and investment opportunities.
