BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Interior has introduced 18 projects to enhance public well-being during the New Year 2025 celebrations. These initiatives aim to alleviate hardships and improve quality of life, reflecting the ministry’s mission to relieve suffering and promote sustainable happiness.

According to, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, key measures to ease financial burdens include electricity bill extensions by the Metropolitan Electricity Authority. For off-grid households, the Provincial Electricity Authority will install solar power systems. Additionally, 263 local pawn shops will reduce interest rates, offering interest-free loans up to 5,000 baht for three months.


To improve quality of life, the Metropolitan and Provincial Waterworks Authorities are offering a 15% discount on new water meter installations. The Department of Local Administration has extended the deadline for land and building tax payments by two months. Farmers and small vendors will benefit from free trading spaces for three months to support local economic activity.

Economic development initiatives include SME clinics providing financial advice and vocational training in partnership with state-owned banks. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will encourage cultural preservation projects and develop community spaces. In addition, the BMA will host events to support cultural and community engagement during the holiday season.



To celebrate the Equal Marriage Act, the Department of Provincial Administration will streamline services for couples across 878 districts. These services are part of nationwide celebrations aimed at promoting equality and unity.
