BANGKOK, 2 February 2015 – The Ministry of Interior is taking serious action against corruption, in its nationwide approach.
Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary Wiboon Sanguanpong said all provincial agencies must formulate a plan to tackle corruption in their respective areas.
According to him, they are to follow the Ministry’s policy, which is focused on providing greater and quicker public access to public services, instilling in civil servants moral values, and curbing graft in a proactive manner.
Mr. Wiboon added that legal action will be taken against anyone found to have committed a crime, without exception. He hoped all the efforts would help improve the image of Thailand and pave the way for the country to be part of ASEAN Economic Community without any obstacles.
The efforts will also raise the confidence of the international community in Thailand, concluded the permanent secretary.
