Both sides discussed ways to promote and protect child rights, including for migrant and stateless children in border areas between Thailand and neighbouring countries.

Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, discussed with Ms. Kyungsun Kim, UNICEF Representative for Thailand on 21 March 2024,.

Both sides discussed ways to promote and protect child rights, including for migrant and stateless children in border areas between Thailand and neighbouring countries. They aimed to enhance the role of children and youth in international fora. UNICEF Representative shared UNICEF’s advocacy priorities, including promoting children’s healthy lifestyle, ending violence against children, investing in childcare services, and children and climate change.

In this regard, DG Pinsuda reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to continue constructive cooperation with UNICEF in driving forward the child and youth agenda. (MFA)
