KANCHANABURI, 15 July 2012  – The Governor of Kanchanaburi, Mr. Chaiwat Limwanta, presided over a ceremony to present medicine chests and sports equipment to needy schools in 13 districts of Kanchanaburi province.

The donations, made by the British Dispensary (LP) Company Limited, were presented to representatives of the recipient schools at Wat Intaram School in Tha Muang District. The presentation was witnessed by chiefs of government units in Kanchanaburi, and teachers and students from the benefited schools. On behalf of the donor, Mr. Anurut Vongvanij, president of the British Dispensary company gave background information on the donations, which were parts of the company’s “Medicine Chests for the Young” campaign.

Governor Chaiwat expressed thanks to the British Dispensary company for giving the importance to schoolchildren’s health and hygiene. At the ceremony, the company donated medicine chests and sports equipment to sixty schools. At present, many schools in Kanchanaburi still lack medications for common illnesses and require supplies to administer first aid. This campaign is thus very beneficial for rural Thai children, in promoting good health and quality of life.
