Kasakomon Bridge repairs set for completion, reopens for traffic on Saturday

BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Deputy Governor Visanu Subsompon, on October 10, inspected the ongoing repairs of Kasakomon Bridge in Dusit District, which had collapsed on Sunday, October 6. Representatives from the Drainage Department, Public Works Department, and contractors accompanied him during the site visit.

Deputy Governor Visanu explained that the collapse was caused by a retaining wall sliding, which led to the ground subsiding. Gravel will be laid down, and bridge joints will be fixed. Asphalt will be applied, and remaining work, such as sidewalk repairs and the removal of the police booth, will be completed. The repairs are expected to be finished by Friday night (Oct. 11), with traffic reopening by Saturday morning at the latest.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring all details are thoroughly checked and completed before the bridge is reopened to the public.
