CHONBURI, 27 July 2015 – Khao Kheow Open Zoo is inviting holidaymakers to plan a visit to glimpse into the cuteness of the zoo’s blue wildebeest family, which has recently grown with the addition of a newborn calf.

The zoo’s veterinarian team, having inspected the calf after birth, assured that the calf was healthy. The calf was constantly by its mother’s side, and was feeding on the milk of its mother.

The blue wildebeest is a large mammal whose head resembles that of a bull while its body is leaner and resembles a horse. Blue wildebeest herds normally comprise 80-100 members. The herds roam the grasslands and sparse forests of eastern and southern Africa. The gestation period is usually eight months, and only a single calf is born each time.

Visitors can enjoy the blue wildebeest family at the zoo’s African savanna zone.
