Khao Yai National Park has implemented stricter controls on vehicle speed and noise levels in response to tourist violations. Checkpoints have been set up to monitor vehicles, mainly focusing on those with engine and exhaust noise levels exceeding legal limits.
Authorities have so far apprehended at least 22 individuals, including five motorcyclists with noise levels above the 95-decibel limit and 17 drivers caught speeding over the 60 km/h limit. Those found in violation have been fined under the National Park Act and related regulations.
Park officials have issued a warning, stating that these rules will be rigorously enforced. Motorcyclists must ensure their vehicles are not modified to produce excessive noise, and all drivers are urged to comply with speed limits while traveling through the park.
