Thirteen airlines are scheduled to operate flights to Krabi International Airport during the 2024-25 winter season, a peak time for tourism in Thailand’s Andaman coast resort town. The lineup includes ten airlines running regular routes—Flydubai, Scoot Tigerair, LOT Polish Airlines, TUI Fly, Jetstar Asia Airways, Thai AirAsia, AirAsia Berhad, Bangkok Airways, Shanghai Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines. TUI Fly, LOT Polish Airlines, and Neos Airlines will also conduct international chartered flights to the region.
Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit has reported that these services are expected to increase weekly flight traffic to the airport by over 160 flights. In preparation, the Department of Airports has been directed to enhance operational readiness. This includes ensuring that staffing levels are sufficient during busy periods and that facilities are well-maintained to handle the influx.
Moreover, Krabi Airport is advised to improve its public relations efforts concerning using the common-use passenger processing system (CUPPS) to streamline passenger flow and reduce congestion at terminal checkpoints. (NNT)
