Krabi to regulate placement of billboards for better landscape

KRABI, 20 May 2015 – Krabi Province is to regulate placement of expired and worn-out billboards while city trees will be given pruning to improve the landscape of Krabi as a famous tourism city.

Krabi Governor Songpol Sawastham revealed that the move was part of “Krabi: The City of Beauty and Clean Water” campaign, one of the twelve provincial agendas for 2015-2016.

“Provincial authorities in Krabi are called to help in the removal of worn-out billboards. They are from Krabi’s Highways District Office, the Department of Rural Roads, local administrative organizations, community volunteers, police and military personnel,” Mr.Songpol said.

The operation will take place on six specified days in different locations across the province. Billboards located from the Krabi Technical College Intersection to Krabi-Khao Thong Road were already cleared on Wednesday 20 May 2105. The rest of the operations are scheduled for 21st, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 29th May.

The Governor has also called on the public to render cooperation in carrying out the new regulation to success.
