Welcome the Year of the Rabbit
Pattaya’s official Chinese New Year celebration has been moved from Bali Hai Pier to Naklua’s Lan Pho Park, where the city has again set up a “Pattaya Chinatown”. The event started yesterday, Feb. 3, and will continue until Saturday night, Feb. 5.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Director Niti Kongkrut and Sawang Boriboon Foundation President Prasit Thongthitjaroen announced the schedule for the Feb. 3-5 celebration late last month at Central Festival Pattaya Beach.
This year we welcome in the Year of the Rabbit with traditional Chinese New Year celebrations at Naklua’s Lan Pho Park from Feb. 3-5. Most local resorts and entertainment venues also will be hosting events to wish in the New Year. So, whether you go to Naklua or one of your favorite venues, or even if you wish to stay home to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, the Pattaya Mail Media family wishes you and yours a Happy Chinese New Year – Kung Hei Fat Choi!
This year’s “Happy Lucky Red Beach” New Year fest will highlight modern and graphic designs to differentiate it from the previous events. It will feature stage shows and musical performances from Pong Lang Sa-Orn, Chin Chinawut, Peter Fordify, and The Sun band; a Chinese Girl Pattaya pageant, cultural shows, movies, Alcazar cabaret dancers, Chinese gods worship and dragon dances.
Many local resorts and entertainment venues also will be hosting events, so check with your favorite venue for a fun night out.
