BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra welcomed Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on an official visit, with both leaders pledging to strengthen bilateral ties and address shared challenges.

The visit, which comes ahead of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in 2025, focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including economic, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.



A significant focus was placed on addressing shared challenges, particularly transnational crime, including call center scams, which have been declared an ASEAN priority.

The two leaders will witnessed the signing of four agreements and memoranda of understanding, covering areas such as justice and legal cooperation, railway transport, education, and trade.

They also presided over the unveiling of the 75th anniversary of Thai-Laos diplomatic relations logo. The Thai Prime Minister hosted a luncheon in honor of the Lao Prime Minister and his wife. (TNA)
