BANGKOK,(NNT) The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) is encouraging all sectors to use water sparingly under the campaign entitled Save Water You Make It.
PWA Governor Seree Supratid said a water management plan for dry season this year has been implemented while the volume of water is adequate but droughts might be inevitable due to harsh climate change, and the excessive production of rice which might affect irrigation plans.
He said farmers are advised to refrain from growing the second crop of rice and wait until rainy season, while all sectors are suggested to use water conservatively and effectively.
The PWA has launched the Save Water You Make It campaign to encourage industrial manufacturers to request for the green-label certification for appliances from the Thai Industrial Standards Institute and encourage the general public to use appliances with a green-label certificate to help conserve water and environment.
