BANGKOK, 21 Oct 2013 A great number of people are showing interest in the 18th Book Expo Thailand 2013, currently held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The event has a lively atmosphere, with the majority of the fair goers being youngsters who spent their weekend at the exposition. This has reflected the fact that Thai youths still give importance to reading.

A member of the Promotion of Academic Olympiads and Development of Science Education Foundation, Mr. Pasin Lertsukhasem said he visits the fair every year as he loves reading while the expo offers a wide selection of books.

According to a recent poll, the overall number of Thai readers is declining; however, the number of younger readers remains high thanks to the blooming popularity of online reading.

The Fair’s organizers have urged people to visit the fair, saying reading expands knowledge, widen one’s perspective, and offers possibility to learn new things.

The 18th Book Expo Thailand 2013 will conclude on Sunday, October 27th.
