AYUTTHAYA, 01 October 2013 – Livestock Development Department officials have been dispatched to rescue farm animals across the country that were facing floods.
Department director-general Thritsadi Chaosuancharoen on Monday visited Ayutthaya province to evaluate the situation of flooding on livestock, and to supervise the handing out of animal feed and medical supplies to livestock owners.
According to Dr. Thritsadi, almost 400,000 farm animals have been afflicted by the flooding in 14 provinces. These include cattle, buffalo, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks. He said Livestock officials have been sent down to the afflicted areas to help evacuate the animals or provide animal feed and nutritional supplements.
