Louis Tussaud’s Wax Museum plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day by getting 99 couples to pucker up and attempt the world’s longest kiss.

The waxworks, part of the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! complex in Royal Garden Plaza, wants to get tongues wagging by getting the city again registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The current record of 32 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds was set in Germany in 2009. Ripley’s executives say Pattaya certainly is more romantic than Germany and can easily out-smooch them.

The Feb. 13-14 contest, however, is open to married couples only – heterosexual or gay – at least 20 years old. Winners will get 100,000 baht cash and a 50,000-baht diamond ring from World Gems, as well as other prizes. For more information, see RipleyThailand.co.th or call 038-710-294(-8).
