ENGLAND – Manchester United has officially announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the team’s new manager on Nov 1, signing him to a three-year contract.
The 39-year-old Amorim, previously the head coach of Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, will take charge of Manchester United starting November 11, replacing Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed following the team’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United last weekend. The club has agreed to pay Sporting Lisbon a compensation fee of €10 million to release Amorim from his contract.
Amorim’s first match in charge will be against Ipswich Town on November 24, following the international break. In the interim, Ruud van Nistelrooy will serve as the caretaker manager for the next three matches. (TNA)
