Maris shares foreign policy with representatives from Thai communities in New York

The Foreign Minister shared with the representatives of the Thai associations, Thai businesses, and the media, the updates on the Government’s people-centered foreign policy, and commitment to promote the dignity and profile of Thai people in the international community.

NEW YORK – H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with representatives from the Thai communities in New York during his visit to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly on 28 September.

The Foreign Minister shared with the representatives of the Thai associations, Thai businesses, and the media, the updates on the Government’s people-centered foreign policy, and commitment to promote the dignity and profile of Thai people in the international community. He also commended the Thai communities on the constructive role and contribution to the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Consulate-Generals’ missions and the Thai community’s success in establishing the Little Thailand Way in New York City in 2022, to represent the Thai identity. The Foreign Minister took this opportunity to listen to the suggestions and concerns of the Thai Community in order to explore ways to provide further support. On this occasion, the Foreign Minister presented financial contribution to a representative from Wat Buddha Thai Thavorn Vanaram, to support the Thai community’s activities.

The Thai communities in the United States consist of over 320,000 people, the largest Thai community abroad, with over 52,000 people living in New York and nearby states. (MFA)
