BANGKOK, 18 October 2011 – According to the public relations unit of the Flood Relief Operations Centre (FROC), the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health, has established the Mental Health Consulting Center at the FROC on the 2nd floor of the domestic building, Don Mueang Airport, to give advice, suggestions and preliminary remedies to officials and volunteers who are on duty assisting the flood victims and facing fatigue and stress from work.
The Mental Health Consulting Centre, manned by doctors, nurses, social workers and psychologists, will provide suggestions and solutions to people’s problems as well as distribute manuals, leaflets and CDs containing mental health information and techniques of stress reduction. The center opens from 09.00-21.00 daily.
Apart from the Mental Health Consulting Centre, the Department of Mental Health has also opened a Call Center to provide mental health consulting service 24 hours a day.
