BANGKOK, 22 July 2015, The government and private sector are organizing the ‘Muang Thai Marathon 2015’ in each of the four regions, aiming to boost tourism and promote healthy lifestyles.
Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul made the announcement. She said the marathon is being spearheaded by an alliance of private corporation helmed by Muang Thai Insurance PCL.
The four marathon events will be held in Bangkok on August 23, Nakhon Ratchasima on September 20, Phuket on October 18, and Chiang Mai on December 20.
Ms. Kobkarn said at each marathon event, Muang Thai Insurance would provide a free 100,000 baht’s worth of accident insurance to all participants. Net revenue from the events will be donated to a charity of the provincial organizers’ choosing. Those interested can visit www.muangthaimarathon.com for more information.
