BANGKOK, 21 September 2015 – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will expedite its registration of landless farmers in accordance with the Prime Minister’s policy.
Agriculture Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikalya said yesterday that he has instructed the Agricultural Land Reform Office to speed up the registration process.
He said his Ministry has received numerous complaints of unfair practice in the matter and confirmed that his Ministry will decisively address the matter of landlessness in accordance with the Prime Minister’s policy.
Gen Chatchai added that his Ministry will propose new assistance measures during the drought such as more innovative farming, livestock farming, water resource management and debt extensions.
