BANGKOK, 10 August 2015 – The Minister of Justice has urged public to help report entertainment venues that leads youth astray, while authorities will enforce more stringent regulations on these venues.

The Minister of Justice Gen Paiboon Koomchaya has said regarding the regulation of entertainment and game venues, where the services to youth customers may be too addictive, that the general public can help report such venues to the authorities so that the venues’ services can be regulated.

He has said that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is more focused on game venues than gambling, as these venues provide obvious services that exceed the time limit, becoming a destination where youths gather in unlawful ways. The problem of gambling venues, on the other hand, is the operation under the disguise of another service venue.

The Justice Minister has further said that officials must not overlook this issue, while the ministry has already coordinated with the administrative sector and the armed forces to provide joint forces with the police to regulate the venues.
