BANGKOK, 2 June 2015, The Ministry of Finance has proposed that the Cabinet expand the budget for Private Public Partnership (PPP) projects from one billion baht to five billion baht, saying the projects need more investment fluidity.
Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Director-General of the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO), said the ministry would move forward with PPP projects as soon as the Cabinet approves its proposal.
He indicated that there are currently two PPP projects this year, which are the garbage power plant construction projects in Nonthaburi and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces valued at four billion baht and two billion baht, respectively. The projects will be initiated by the end of this year or beginning of next year.
Mr. Kulit said that PPP Projects planned for next year include the dual-track railway and the high-speed railway, as the Ministry of Transport studies how to integrate private investments into these projects.
